What It Takes To Achieve Your Dreams and The Success You Want – A Short Story

“There are many excuses for failure but no good reason” – Mark Twain

“You never fail until you stop trying” – A. Einstein

At some point or another we may wonder and think to ourselves “what does it take ?” to have the life we want to live. We may wonder what it takes to achieve the success we want, we may wonder what it takes to realise our dreams now in this lifetime.

“…there needs to be a willingness”

Frustration and Despair

As we all wake up from day to day, aiming to achieve different things to bring us closer to what we truly desire. Sometimes we may get frustrated, lost or disillusioned.

In addition, even if we are just trying to survive going through the motions of life without conscious awareness and/or a conscious self-awareness we may see our challenges and obstacles as the perfect “reason”, the perfect excuse to park beside the highway of life.

“Any action is often better than no action, especially if you have been stuck in an unhappy situation for a long time. If it is a mistake, at least you learn something, in which case it’s no longer a mistake. If you remain stuck, you learn nothing.” – Eckhart Tolle

In any event, situation, circumstance or moment we can be activated and inspired. We can find the purpose, strength and resolve deep within us as we all have that latent energy and potential just waiting to be summoned. Attitude and perspective are key and are of the upmost importance in our journey to attaining what we want. Though with the appropriate attitude and perspective, there needs to be a willingness (Willingness : The quality or state of being prepared to do something; readiness . Done, borne, or accepted by choice or without reluctance / done of your own choosing).

This is because the big things are made up of the small acts that add up over a span of dedicated time and consistent effort.

You need to be willing to submit and willing to be shamelessly hungry (wanting to achieve your desired outcome and openly accepting its part of who you are). Furthermore, be (to an extent) willing to being exclusively consistent, committed and passionate to executing the task(s) ahead. Especially the seemingly small day to day tasks that take you closer to where you want to be. This is because the big things are made up of the small acts that add up over a span of dedicated time and consistent effort.

success through your thoughts

You can control your thoughts, you are the master of your success

In conclusion…

A short but powerful story to get you thinking (fruit for thought)…

One day a father told his son the following story… He said…

“Every morning on the plains of the Eastern Serengeti desert there rises a gazelle. Now, that gazelle realises that he/she must run faster. Faster than the fastest lion or he will be eaten and die that very day.

On that very same dessert arises in the morning a lion. Now, that lion realises that he must run faster. Faster than the fastest gazelle or he and his lioness will starve and they will die that very day.

The interesting moral of the story is… No matter who you are, when you wake up in the morning. You need to wake up running.”
